Clothtocloth - coconut - ice

I have been working quietly on my cloth some new ideas and some distractions….

…and then there have been more experiments with the avo…….

I added bicarbonate of soda to the boiling pot and this is the result….:-)
the dark pink is satin velvet the other pieces are bits of cotton cloth…..

oh yumm, i used to love eating coconut ice as a kid, and your clothtocloth looks delectable. the avocado changed dramatically with the bicarb, it's good to play around with it.
are there any other tropical fruits there whose skins you can try?

Hi Deanna thanks for visiting and leaving a comment.

Kaite coconut ice is still my favourite and I dare not make any because I would eat it right out of the bowl before it had a chance to set (not good for the weight management). There is not much here..except avos, mangos and pineapples....I am going to try the mango leaves next..we will have to see. I did try onion skins here but the result was very pale...will post results...

try the pineapple leaves too, i know they are good for making paper as they are so fibrous.

The fabric look very interesting. What do you use to make the color?

Hello Princess I used the leaves from the avocado tree as well as the skin from the avocado fruit...while the leaves and skins were boiling in water on the stove I added a couple of spoons of cooking soda. Thankful for visiting and leaving a comment.
